Day 31 - Segovia to San Sebastian 410km via Pedraza & Burgos (05-May-2018)

Woke up to a clear blue sky as we made our way down to the kitchen where waiting for us was dear Ganka, who had prepared an unexpected wonderful healthy breakfast for us. She also made time to measure our body health analytics relative to our height and age. One of the results was that Ursi body age is 47 years and is married to a 71 year old. We both need to work on our body fat i.e. lower body fat and increase the metabolism. With all this new information, we are contemplating the changes we need to make over bag of chips and red wine (for Ursi), as you do.
We farewelled Ganka, who is off to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand next week and got on our way to San Sebastian a 410km drive. We stopped at a couple of places along the way, the historic town of Pedraza in stunning scenery, which retains it’s original charm; there was hardly anybody there.

Next up was the town of Burgos, a beautiful town with an imposing cathedral, the centrepiece. There were hordes of people enjoying a beautiful day in the bars and restaurants in the town centre, whilst we walked and walked some more to be sure.

Behind he wheel again after a couple of hours in Burgos to our final destination San Sebastian. A total change in landscape in the Basque country, very mountainous; the outside temperature gauge in the car was showing 17 degrees as we wound our way through winding highway to our host AirBnb. It’s a lovely apartment, hosted by Manuel, in a village near San Sebastian. We were pretty tired after the long drive, so dinner was had indoors.
