Day 8 - Valencia (12-Apr-2018)

What a difference a day makes; sunshine, blue sky and a real summer day. Our first job was to delete all the photos from yesterday and replace them with today’s as sunshine and clear blue sky makes everything look better.
Today’s discovery of Valencia started with a visit to the city of Arts and Science, a unique complex devoted to science and culture. It is considered to be one of the 12 treasures of Spain. This is a spectacular complex including a science museum and an oceanographic building. (Worth looking up in Wikipedia.)

This city of Arts and Sciences is situated at the end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park which runs right through Valencia.
We were blown away by it. It’s in complete contrast to the old town, which was next on the agenda. We had to revisit to experience it and the market under a blue sky and it didn’t disappoint.
