Day 6 - Barcelona (10-Apr-2018)

Blue sky and sunshine - this is what we woke up to today.

But hang on a minute, still not T-Shirt and Shorts weather. Very misleading - we were wrapped up in pants and puffer jacket all day with a freezing wind blowing around us. Had a great day, visiting Park Güell, which sits 150m above Barcelona, overlooking the city and the Mediterranean. The architect Gaudi built a whole range of things up here, which unfortunately we could not visit as that section of the park was booked out.

We walked on towards the Hospital de Sant Pau, which sits on an amazing 145,000 m2. Some very rich Catalonian banker left 4 million pesos to the Government so that they could build a hospital in Barcelona. Amazing architecture - and well worth a visit !

Then we were off to “Basilika Sagrada Familia”, which just blew us away. Words can not accurately describe the spectacular sight, inside and outside. How it is even possible to build something like this is quite a mystery to us. It's still under construction and won't be completed until 2026. Worth reading about it in Wikipedia.

A must for anyone’s bucket list ! Sharad is getting prepared for an important Liverpool match tonight, so he is in the “zone”. Having delegated the “blog” to me with plenty of tips and advice, here goes ! Another great day in Barcelona - Adios.
