The sun tried to break
through late arvo, consistent with the forecast. The morning was a washout;
stayed indoors to catch up with family and friends using apps on our phones. On
mornings like these the Virtual Private Network comes in very handy to catch up
on Australian news, current affairs, sports and tv shows streaming through our
laptops.One such place is Igreja Da Graca (Cathedral);
we happened to walk it, up countless steps and hilly cobbled stone lanes. It
offered views of the city and its famous landmarks.
On the way down, we walked
through the Alfama district.
The tram taking the tourists up there is not
unlike the one in SF; long queues to get it and we don’t do queues. On the way
down to our apartment, came across a Bangladeshi gentleman who gave us some
tips of local Indian restaurants, which we took on board. After a rest, we went
and had a nice Indian meal, chicken korma, beef saag, rice and naan bread. To
top that they also served me a fair dinkum chai tea. Happy days.
