The plan was to stop over night in Valence, France, half way between Gontenschwil and Barcelona but ended up in Montelimar (not everything goes according to plan).
After a hearty Swiss breakfast with Ursi’s siblings, we were off to a good start in our borrowed car from Moni, Ursi’s sister.
It was smooth sailing until we got to the border where the traffic came to a crawl. Staying very patient, we made our way to Valence where we wasted an hour looking for accommodation as anything half decent was booked out due to a festival in the town and that’s how we ended up in Montelimar. It worked out really well, as we stayed in a lovely hotel in the old town district. Ended the day with a nice dinner at a Moroccan restaurant as you do in France 😀.
